In the mid sixties there existed a secret task force for creating a "super human." Their efforts finally paid off in the year 1980, when they successfully engineered a biocybernetic being. Not wishing their creation to stick out, they gave it the inconspicuous name of Joshua and raised it like any other human child. Josh was designed to develop and grow just like any other human boy, up untill his 22nd birthday, at which point his programs would accelerate to their natural rate and would quickly fulfill his destiny as a "super human." They estimated he would dominate the entire world before his 30th birthday.
Fortunately for humanity, however, Josh hasn't set his eyes on world domination quite yet. He is content to pursue his writing career, tinker with web design, and pre-apprentice as a Modifier.
